Tibet: 97% of women in rural Tibet give birth without a skilled attendant present. Choose to give a gift supporting our Midwifery training in rural Tibet. Buy birth kits for $20 a piece; support an annual salary for a rural Tibetan midwife for $120; $500 contributes to the construction of a rural birth center currently under construction.

Be A Sponsor: $120 pays a midwife's annual salary, $225 provides her training, $500 provides a scholarship to further her education so that she can learn emergency life saving skills, and $2000 covers her travel to the International Midwife Congress organized by COHI in Tanzania.

Sudan: A needs assessment is planned to begin in Sudan in early January to determine COHI’s future programming to support midwives working tirelessly in this horrific genocide. Please donate today to support this essential programming, and connect with women struggling to make a difference in Sudan in spite of such terrible odds.

Tanzania:  Support the training of local midwives in this area of the world ravaged by drought and HIV/AIDS. $25 purchases a birth kit, $75 covers transport to attend a training in Dar El Saalam, $200 provides an annual salary, $500 provides a year of lifesaving HIV/AIDS treatment for someone living with HIV/AIDS, and $1000 rehabilitates a rural clinic serving thousands with very limited resources.

Middle East: Join the courageous Israeli, Palestinian, and Bedouin women committed to peaceful coexistence through support of this critical initiative. $25 is a taxi for a Palestinian woman to reach life saving services; $50 for an Israeli woman to attend garden therapy while courageously living, advocating for peace, amidst the daily stresses of conflict; $100 for a Bedouin woman to attend a training to become a health activist addressing such complicated issues as family violence; and $500 sponsors a shared meeting of Bedouin, Israeli, and Palestinian women to discuss their shared commitment to peaceful coexistence.

Donors will receive a holiday card, which includes a decorative photograph of the project you are supporting and a tax-deductible receipt. The card can be mailed directly to the recipient of the gift, or to the individual making the donation.
