Summer Afternoon to Benefit COHI's Tanzania Project

Friends and fellow volunteers,

Well, there's no avoiding it any longer - it's summer, and it's sweltering here in the city. Friends of COHI are looking out for you, though, so mark your calendars - on Saturday, August 9th, we'll be holding a special event at Brooklyn's lovely Flatbush Farm and Bar(n), where we'll relax on the patio, chill out in the shade, and enjoy each other's company. Most importantly, we'll be celebrating COHI's growing efforts to improve maternal and neonatal health care in Kisarawe, Tanzania!

In 2005, COHI began providing training in neonatal health, HIV/AIDS, and gender-based violence to FLEMAFA, a local women's health organization in Kisarawe. Each summer, COHI also sponsors a women's health conference and brings a global team of women's health care professionals to provide training and workshops to local women's health practitioners. In mid-August of this year, we'll be sending an expanded team of doctors, nurses, and midwives to Tanzania, where they'll work side-by-side with our local partners, helping them build their capacity to deliver reproductive health care services so that our work will sustain itself for years to come.

When: Saturday, August 9th, 3 pm
Where: Flatbush Farm and Bar(n),
76 Saint Marks Avenue (6th Avenue and Flatbush) Brooklyn, NY 11217
