![]() COHI Board of Directors member Mary Drake with FLEMAFA staff members Mariam Gorotto, a nurse and gender officer, and Faridah Mgunda, a nurse midwife and FLEMAFA chief executive officer From August 26th to September 9th, 2007, Circle of Health International (COHI) is co-hosting "Kisarawe-Kilimanjaro Challenge: Summit for Women and Children’s Health", to benefit the Kisarawe community. The program consists of a global women's health conference, visits to rural villages, tours of health centers, and the development of joint action plans to address the most pressing issues affecting women’s healthcare in Kisarawe. The health conference is followed by a trip to northern Tanzania where we summit Mt. Kilimanjaro – the highest peak in Africa.
COHI is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2004 to empower conflict and disaster-affected women through the provision of women's health services. COHI has formed a partnership with a Tanzanian non-profit organization to train midwives and health professionals, equip health facilities and work closely with the community to develop activities to save the lives of women and children.
