Employment: Financial Officer

MISSION: To support the empowerment of conflict, post-conflict, and disaster-affected women through the provision of comprehensive women’s health services.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Commit to a one-year working relationship with COHI in a volunteer capacity as the primary financial officer;
  • Draft COHI organizational financial management strategy;
  • Design mechanisms and protocols for access/reporting/managing;
  • Provide support for COHI staff/BOD/volunteers when needed on financial operations;
  • Monthly consolidation of COHI’s incoming and outgoing expenses complete with account balances and an accurate description of current financial standing in relation to annual financial plan;
  • Produce quarterly financial reports for the Board to be posted on the COHI website;
  • Supervise COHI bank accounts to maintain consistent management, updating, and monitoring;
  • Manage payroll and reimbursements;
    Prepare COHI’s annual tax report on time and file for submission;
  • Attend the annual COHI working retreat;
    Work with the VCO team from Harvard Business School (if/when needed) to promote cohesion between the development, implementation, and evaluation of COHI’s financial management strategy;
  • Communicate independently with COHI members to collaborate on financial management issues;
  • Commit to actively engaging in issues raised through our work at COHI by engaging in open, direct, and compassionate communication with all COHI members.

We encourage all individuals with interest in joining the COHI family to communicate directly with other members of the COHI family to learn more about the subtle ins and outs of our work. We also encourage you to familiarize yourself with the basic tenets of international reproductive health, grassroots community organizing, and the feminist model of leadership, as these are the fundamental ideas behind the work COHI does and the way we function as an organization.
