MISSION: To build the capacity of women's health care professionals in crisis settings.
PAY/BENEFITS: $12/hr for 15 hours a week; internet fees covered in your home; and possible opportunity for training in professional development related to this position.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Commit to a one-year working relationship with COHI to be paid $12/hr for 15 hours a week with a start date of Dec 1, 2008;
- Draft COHI organizational administrative management strategy complete with weekly and monthly work logs approved by Executive Director;
- Design mechanisms and protocols for accessing and managing administrative activities and supportive materials;
- Provide informational, organizational, and project support for all COHI members, volunteers, and public inquires through responding to emails, phone calls, and mail inquiries;
- Maintain email lists for internal COHI communication;
- Pay monthly bills required for COHI’s operational process (phone bill, server bill, etc);
- Monthly consolidation of COHI’s incoming and outgoing expenses complete with account balances and an accurate description of current financial standing in relation to annual financial plan;
- Produce quarterly activity reports for the Board;
- Supervise COHI bank accounts to maintain consistent management, updating, and monitoring on projects and organizational expenses;
- Maintain donor database by managing incoming donations (through the internet, events, and the postal service) by updating contact information, sending tax-deductible letters of thanks, and ensuring that all donations find the proper account for which they are intended;
- Manage payroll and reimbursements;
- Attend the annual COHI working retreat;
- Communicate independently with COHI members to collaborate on organizational, administrative, and management issues;
- Commit to actively engaging in issues raised through our work at COHI by engaging in open, direct, and compassionate communication with all COHI members.
We encourage all individuals newly joining the COHI family to communicate directly with other COHI members to learn more about the subtle ins and outs of our work. We also encourage you to familiarize yourself with the basic tenets of international reproductive health, grassroots community organizing, and the feminist model of leadership, as these are the fundamental ideas behind the work COHI does and the way we function as an organization.
